Your wedding day is going to be one of the happiest days of your life. You spend months, years, and ok... maybe most of your childhood planning for this day. Photographing your wedding is an honor I do not take lightly.
I'm so unbelievably grateful to be a part of each client's special day. That's why, at the end of this crazy beautiful process I hope you consider me not just a professional you hired, but a friend.
At this point in the planning process, you're likely looking for the perfect wedding photographer to fit your style, personality, date, and budget. You might be searching the web, social media platforms, wedding blogs, and referrals from family and friends. But how you choose the right one?
Questions to ask yourself or potential wedding photographers:
(This is fun for me because I just did this as a Bride!)
1. Do you like their work?
Not just how the edit their photos but how they capture moments. Can you see yourself in their images?
2. Do you like them?
I know you might not think this matters but I'm telling you, it's very important. Your photographer spends the majority of your day with you from getting ready through the reception. You want to enjoy their presence and feel comfortable around them. When you are comfortable, you are yourself. When you are yourself, they're able to capture beautiful candid and genuine images.
3. Are they available for your date?
If you are looking to get married on a Saturday in the summer in Maine, the dates are limited. Likely, so is the photographer's availability. So if you have a photographer you are set on, check in with them before booking your date.
4. What is your budget?
Knowing your budget and what you are looking for photography coverage is important when inquiring with a photographer. Not sure what you need for coverage? Talk to your photographer about your rough timeline and what you are hoping to have captured. They will help you determine the right amount of coverage for your budget and photography needs.
5. What is their approach to a wedding day?
This is a fun one. Although I'm a wedding photographer, I made sure to ask this to other photographers when I was inquiring as a bride. I didn't want to assume that they just did things the way I do. Each photographer approaches the day differently. Ask them about their process - including leading up to the wedding, day of, and follow up.
6. Get to know them.
Before sending out a general inquiry to multiple photographers really get to know their websites, social media, blog, etc. before inquiring. You would be surprised how much information you can find just by searching. This will help you narrow down your search. After that, schedule a phone call, facetime, or in person meeting to get to know your potential photographer.
7. Tell them about YOU.
I get loads of inquiries with literally just the date and asking for my pricing. I totally respect that there is only so much time in a day for wedding planning, but as a professional who is potentially going to be working on your wedding day - I want to get to know YOU. Tell me about the two of you (and please include your fiancee's name!). What do you like to do together? What is your vision for your wedding day? The more details the better.
I'm sure you can think of more but these are the few that really stick out to me as a photographer and fellow bride.
So with that all being said, let me share with you a little bit about the
A.Fogarty Photography Wedding Experience.
I photographed my first wedding when I was in high school (crazy, right?) and have been capturing genuine, romantic and beautiful wedding photography for the past six years. I have a natural approach that allows me to capture heartfelt moments through a genuine experience and create images that are as timeless and authentic as your love. Think: lots of snuggling, dancing, and forehead kisses. I promise to guide you through the entire process to provide an organic flow of poses and candid imagery.
As your photographer, I will be by your side for the majority of your wedding day. But no need to worry, I try to blend in as much as possible. Most of the time, there is no need to stop and pose for me. Just be your happy self and in the moment with the people around you. You will appreciate these candid moments more, and it will allow you to enjoy your day instead of worrying about photography. It is my mission to capture all the big moments and little ones in between.

WHO I AM:
I'm a 24 year old wedding photographer living in South Portland, Maine. I'm a small town girl at heart but moved to southern Maine after graduating High School and never looked back. I attended the University of Southern Maine where I studied Communications & Marketing. USM will always hold a special place in my heart as it's the place where I met the love of my life and formed some of my greatest friendships.
I define myself as a multi-passionate creative because although photography is my main career, I also have another business (Posh + Walker). I truly believe I have the best job in the world - capturing love stories and sharing them with the world. In my not so often "spare time" I enjoy sticking my toes in the sand whenever possible, traveling near and far, cuddles with my fur babies, and creating a beautiful life with my fiancee. I have daily reminders of how incredible, but short this life is and I intend to make the very most of it.
